The “Meet & Greet” add-on is an optional service that you can offer on your Gudog profile as a dog sitter. It allows dog owners to book a time to meet you in person before the dog-sitting begins. This initial meeting helps both the owner and you as the sitter get comfortable with the booking and ensures that the dog is happy with you, setting everyone up for a successful sitting experience.
Why Offer the “Meet & Greet”?
Offering this add-on can benefit you in several ways:
- Build trust: Meeting in person reassures owners that their dog will be in good hands, increasing the likelihood of a successful booking.
- Increase your earnings: You can charge between 6€ to 8€ for the Meet & Greet, giving you the opportunity to earn extra income!
- Ensure compatibility: This is a chance for you to assess the dog’s behavior and compatibility with your home and lifestyle, also with your dog(s) if you have them, before the final sitting.
How to Set Up the "Meet & Greet" Add-on
- Log into your profile and go to the “service” section.
- Update your services adding the “meet & greet” option and choose a price within the allowed range of 6€ to 8€. Save your changes!
- The option will now be visible to pet parents browsing your profile.
How Does It Work?
When dog owners browse your profile, they will see the “Meet & Greet” option as an additional service. If they choose this add-on when booking with you, they will pay this extra fee and contact you to arrange a convenient time for the meeting. You can discuss the best location and time to meet (whether it's at your home, a nearby park or another neutral spot).
Once the Meet & Greet is complete, you can proceed with the full booking if everything goes smoothly! You will be paid for both the meet and greet and the booking.
Meet & Greet Fee Policy: Non-refundable for pet parents
One of the best benefits of the Meet & Greet service for sitters is that the fee is non-refundable in the event of a booking cancellation by pet parents. This means that regardless of whether the dog owner proceeds with a full booking or cancels afterward, you will always be paid for your time and effort in meeting the owner and their dog.
This is a new and improved feature for sitters, ensuring that your time is respected and compensated, even if the owner decides not to move forward with the booking.
Meet & Greet fee only will be refunded if the meeting has not been conducted.
Tips for a Successful Meet & Greet
- Be punctual: Arrive on time to make a great first impression.
- Prepare questions: Ask the owner about the dog’s temperament, routine, and any special needs. You can review our Meet & Greet Checklist.
- Observe the Dog and create a connection: This is a great opportunity to have your ‘first date’. When the booking date arrives you will already know each other.
- Communicate Clearly: Make sure the owner knows how you handle dog sitting, your environment, and any relevant details.
The “Meet & Greet” is a fantastic way to build trust with dog owners, ensure compatibility with the dog, and give yourself the confidence that you’re a good match for the job. Adding this service to your profile will not only enhance your sitter offering but also help boost your overall bookings. Plus, with the new non-refundable policy, you are guaranteed to be compensated for your time!
