What happens if an owner cancels a booking?

If you have a confirmed booking, the owner is free to cancel the reservation until the day before the service begins.

Depending on how early the cancellation is made, one of the following cancellation policy would apply:

  • If the owner cancels your booking more than 24 hours before the start of the service, the amount will be fully refunded and your calendar will be automatically made available.

eg: the booking starts on January 5. This policy will apply if the owner cancels before January 4. 

  • If the owner cancels your booking less than 24 hours before the start of the service, you will receive 30% of the booking amount and your calendar will be automatically made available.

eg: the booking starts on January 5. This policy will apply if the owner cancels on January 4. 

  • If the owner cancels or does not show up on the day the service begins, you will receive 100% of the booking amount.

eg: the booking begins today but due to unforeseen circumstances the owner does not require the service anymore. 

  • If, after the service has begun, the owner decides to pick up the dog ahead of schedule, you will still receive the entire amount for the booking.

eg: the booking ends on January 10, but the owner arrives earlier and picks up the dog on January 8.

Please note: The above policy is governed by reasons beyond the sitter. If the cancellation involves reasons caused by the sitter, the above policies will not apply and will be reviewed by the Gudog team on a case-by-case basis.
